What Causes Severe Abdominal Bloating In A Person With Gastroduodenitis?
Hello! I am a 49 year old female. I have Gastroduodenitis, chronic gastritis, and a duodenal ulcer. I have had past endoscopes and colonoscopies. I ve had the Gastroduodenitis and all the rest for at least 10 years but since not treatment was recommended I didn t think much about it. I recently had both scopes again and now my GI says I have Crohn s Ileitus. I have NO symptoms of Crohn s. Just severe bloating. He originally started me on Uceris and Balsalazide (9 pills a day). I had an allergic reaction to both so then he says I need to start Imuran. I don t have the H. Pylori virus but my general practitioner is going to have me start on the PREVPAC to hopefully heal my ulcers. I am not convinced that I have Crohn s as even the pathology report is inconclusive. I just want the bloating to go away and I don t want to be on meds that cause me worse problems/illnesses than I already have. Should I just get a second opinion and go from there? Just really scared and confused. Thank you!
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of severe abdominal bloating in a person with gastroduodenitis . Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query like gastroesophageal reflux disease, irritable bowel syndrome , gas pains , gastroenteritis, lactose intolerance, ulcerative colitis or inflammatory bowel disease . Need not to worry. You should drink plenty of water and eat fibrous diet. I would suggest you to consult gastroenterologist for proper examination. Doctor may order stool test, CT scan , ultrasound and endoscopy. Start treatment after complete examination. Avoid intake of large meals at a time and take small and frequent meals. For now eat light , avoid non spicy and heavy food.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
