What Causes Severe Abdominal Bloating Along With Burps And Farts?

hi. I woke up yesterday morning with a feeling of significant bloating. it feels like it is making my ribs hurt. i am both burping and farting but only small ones and it does not bring much relief. several times when i have burped i have tasted bile in my mouth. yesterday i was feeling really sick at certain points but did not throw up. i have not had any problems with my stools. the pain did subside a little in the evening but i did not eat very much. as soon as i eat something it hurts and is very uncomfortable right now.

Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain, the symptoms of bloating, burping along with pain in the area of the ribs and tasting bile when burped seems to be due to Gastresophageal reflux disease commonly known as acid reflux..
In this condition there is reflux of stomach acid from the stomach to the food pipe and even throat and mouth leading to inflammation of the food pipe and also causing pain and discomfort..
It occur due to hyper acidity and weakening of lower esophageal spincter that is a band of muscles present on lower end of food pipe..
I would suggest you to consult a Gastroenterologist and get evaluated and a thorough clinical evaluation and investigations like upper G.I Endoscopy can help in diagnosis and treatment can be done accordingly..
You can be advised to take proton pump inhibitors like Pantoprazole, Omeprazole etc..
You can be advised to take H2 blockers like Ranitidine..
Antacids like milk of magnesia can be advised to be taken half an hour meals..
You can also be advised to avoid spicy and acidic foods, drink plenty of water and take small frequent meals..
Take more of probiotic like Yoghurt in diet..
You should do short walks after meals and finish your dinner atleast 2 hours before sleeping..
Sleep with head and chest slightly raised as compared to feet..

Hope this information helps..

Thanks and regards.
