What Causes Sensitivity To Cold In The Teeth?

Hi this is going to be long so bare with me. last year the dentist replaced one of my feelings because i was havibg sensitivity to cold only. So they replaced it but i was still having sensitivity to cold and not only that its a side feeling so when i flassed it would be really hard to get it between the teeth. Then come this year in February i started getting really bad pain in that tooth is was unbarable. And it lasted for a mounth and that tooth stopped hurting than the tooth in front of it right behind the k9 started hurting. And i couldnt go to the dentist yet because they cancled my dental insurance because i just turned 19 so my plan under my parents didnt cover myself anymore so i had to reply for new plan. Come March my tooth stopped hurting and also the sensitivity to cold was gone i was. Then come now and my insurance finally came through and the tooth behind my k9 is sensitive to touch to anything and hurts a tad bit not sure what is going on.

Hi..
Can understand your concern..

As per your complain it seems that your tooth has got its nerves exposed either due to deep cavity preparation during the filling of tooth or due to secondary infection which occurs due to the infection progressing in the tooth below the filling leading to inflammation of nerves which causes pain..

Slowly when the nerves and blood vessels of tooth dies due to continuous inflammation the tooth becomes dead (non-vital) and the pain stops. But such a tooth can be painful any time and the tooth should be treated by doing ROOT CANAL TREATMENT.

As your other tooth is tender and it hurts to touch shows that it is also infected and needs to be cleaned again and the treatment which has to be done is not simple filling but ROOT CANAL TREATMENT in which the nerves and blood vessels of the infected tooth are cut down, the entire tooth and root canals are cleaned and the tooth is filled along with it antibiotics and painkiller are given to relieve pain..

I would suggest you to consult an ENDODONTIST and get a clinical evaluation and IOPAR ( x rays ) done to rule out the exact condition of both the teeth and get treated accordingly..

Hope your query is solved..
