What Causes Sensation Of Obstruction In The Throat With Sore Throat?

Hi I was sick a few times on the weekend and almost choked. I still feel there is something stuck in back of my throat between where I breath and swallow gland. Since then I have had a sore throat and now a chesty cough and few spots where my saliva sits in side my mouth. Do you think it s food particles stuck and now turning to bacteria? I have gargled and tried to be sick again even tried to feel it in my throat it still there when I swallow? Should I go a&e? Or will I just be turned away? Thanks

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query sensation of obstruction in the throat with sore throat is due to granular pharyngitis or upper respiratory tract infection. I would suggest you to avoid eating and drinking acidic , spicy and hot food and beverages . Do warm saline gargles. . If condition doesn't get better in 2-3 days then consult ENT specialist for proper diagnosis and go for swab test. Go for sputum test as well if required and start treatment as per proper diagnosis. Sip warm water after every few minutes.
