What Causes Seizures On The Right Side Of The Body?
Hi I am a 44 yr old female who has suffered seizures since teenage hood, it has been well controlled on phentone , however I recently developed a new type seizure which affects only half right side of my brain and eye and a bit of the right arm for less than a second. What could this be? I actually feel the electrical currents in that part of my brain. I found out that most of the seizures I had then were triggered by periods but now I can t tell the triggers, I could have about four or five of these during the day and some more while trying to wake up. Please help diagnose and give solution
Hello...By your description, you seem to have simple partial seizures. These typically involve one half of the body without affecting consciousness. Since you are having 4 - 5 per day your medication is obviously not enough to control them. Please consult your neurologist who will probably advise and eeg (electroencephalogram)and also an mri if necessary. Seizure disorders can be very well controlled with proper and supervised medication. I hope this helps.
