What Causes Runny Nose And Nasal Bleeding In A Child?

My son gets runny noses herr and there and our weather has been weird. So if it runs for a while it will have blood. First its boogers then a lil blood. When he tries to rub it. Also a few weeks ago he fell pretty hard on the back of head. There is a bump. Hasnt gone away but he acts fine. Eats fine. Hes not 2 yet so he doesnt talk to frequently. Walks fine. Doesnt even acknowledge it. I believe these are two different things. I think and hope the light blood that runs from his nose is just from weather. But the bump not sure. His bump is lower right not behind his ear. A little lower than that. Doctor?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

It can take a few weeks to months for a bump to disappear due to trauma. Scar tissue can form as a result as a result of trauma and this can take a little while to improve.'

The blood from his nose would likely be due to his present viral illness. Viral cough and cold can cause inflammation of the nasal passages and throat causing blood temporarily.
This would improve when the infection improve.

I hope this helps
