What Causes Runny Nose Along With Sneezing Post Caffeine Withdrawal?

I had a cold for the last two days and today. I m thinking this is caused by caffeine withdraws from a cup of coffee I had a few days ago. It was stupid on my part to drink it again but I know for sure I always feel horrible a few days after having a cup and I haven t been sick in a very long time. The symptoms are kind of odd and seem to be on and off. Not long after my nose runs with a lot of clear runny mucus I need to pass gas or burp several times. And many times I ve been sneezing excessively and hiccuping in the middle of that. This group of symptoms returns in waves. Is this just a strange cold or something else?

ENT Specialist 's  Response
Hi,
Welcome to healthcare magic.
I had gone through your question.
I can understand your concern.
There could be no correlation between caffeine withdrawal and your runny nose and sneezing.
This could be due to allergic rhinitis. Frequent burping could be due to gastric reflux secondary to excessive caffeine.
I recommend the following.
1) Avoid taking coffee or tea.
2) Avoid spicy and junk foods.
3) Keep regular diet habits and avoid skipping meals.
4) Take your dinner at least 2 hour before bedtime.
5) Tablet levocetrizine with montelukast for sneezing and running nose.

You will be fine.
Hope I have answered your question. If you have any questions, I am happy to help.
Wish you a good health and speedy recovery.
