What Causes Roughness Of Skin After Waxing?

Hi I waxed the sides of my face about 3 days back and it developed red rashes the next day. The redness is gone after applying Clandamycin HCL lotion but the skin feels rough. Is the roughness due to skin flaking or due to the hair follicles sprouting out? Also, I am slightly prone to acne so keeping that in mind what can I do to address the roughness and avoid any ingrowns or acne etc.

Dermatologist 's  Response
Hi.
As per your case history roughness of skin after wax, my treatment advice is -
1. Don't do waxing on face again as it may lead to similar such reaction.
2. Apply an emollient cream like Enmoist cream twice daily on it.
3. Continue applying clindamycin gel once at night.
4. Other treatment options are oral antibiotics, oral vitamin c given only after consulting a dermatologist.

Thanks.
