What Causes Rise In Blood Pressure?

My wife took her blood pressure sitting down and with both arms and she just got a reading of 100 over 67 with a 65 pulse. She saw her doctor yesterday because of a reading of 170 over 90. Yesterday she began blood pressure medicine. This morning it was 155/69 with a 69 pulse. Sould this 100/67 be alarming or is her body just adjusting to the new medicine? Thank you

General & Family Physician 's  Response
BP of 100 is not alarming and if it reduced after taking BP medication then it is a side effect of the medicinej which has function of reducing the BP. If the BP remain low, then visit your doctor again and ask for reducing the dosage of the medication so that BP would around 120/80.
