me right side hurts next to my belly button. had ct scan done, liver not enlarged and no sign of a mass. can feel numbness and something moving ocassionally. i am a male. no pain laying down, only when standing. i m a 52 yr. old male. could it be my appendix
Hi. Thanks for your query. Noted the history of male of 52 having pain on the right side of the belly button, CT scan has been done but found no reason. CT scan of the abdomen can detect appendicitis and many diseases that even an ultrasound can miss. Hence I would advise you the following: Clinical evaluation and examination by a General Surgeon. Further investigations of the stool, blood and urine. Colonoscopy If all the investigations are normal, the most probable diagnosis can be as follows: This can be IBS means irritable bowel syndrome. Get treated on the basis of this and you may be fine. IBS is directly related to your mental status, stress and anxiety and a good control over these can help you a lot to have symptomatic relief. If any of the investigations are showing any specific disease, get it treated accordingly.
