What Causes Rhinitis With Blockage And Mucus?

Hi, may I answer your health queries right now ? Please type your query here...I have been getting post nasal drip for over 6 mths and i ve been clearing my throat with yellow / yellow green mucus. My left nostril seems blocked though sometimes it has mucous also and often congested. My right nostril seems to be clear.

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain it seems like you have infection and inflammation of the left maxillary sinus causing sinusitis and due to infection there is fluid accumulation in the sinus leading to congestion and post nasal drip..
You should consult an Otolaryngologist and get evaluated and a thorough clinical evaluation and PNS VIEW of the sinus or MRI of the gland can help in confirming the cause and treatment can be planned accordingly..
As of now you can take decongestant nasal drops and oral medicines like Phenylephrine, do steam inhalation and saline nasal irrigation.
Do warm compresses next to left nostril..
Drink plenty of warm fluids..
