What Causes Redness With White Mucus Discharge In Eyes?
I have an 8 year old daughter that woke up with a red eye yesterday morning and with the little white stuff not much she has a little bit of allergies and she woke up this morning and it hurts her to bend over she said it stings her I can you please please help me with this what could that mean?
1. White discharge is normal in all age groups upon wakening (unless proved otherwise) so have an Ophthalmic check up for symptomwise approach.
2. Keep a handkerchief to wipe the discharge repeatedly. Do not touch it everywhere, as the discharge is very infective and Isolate from other family members.
. Do not pad the eye, keep it open and use dark glasses for photophobia.
3. Ciplox or Gentamycin eye drops (1 drop) 2 hourly till the symptoms and redness subside.
4. Change to a higher Antibiotic if eyelids show swelling and cellulitis.
