What Causes Redness In The Eyes?

My right eye was having redness so I consulted an ophthalmologist who suggested Ketoflox eye drops thrice a day. After Putting these drops since last two day, the redness in my eye has further increased. Is it a normal process or do I need to further consult my ophthalmologist.
