Hello,

Welcome to Health Care Magic.
Thanks for writing.

I am Dr.Saddiq-ul-Abidin. I have read your question completely, i understand your concern and will try to help you in best way possible.

Umbilicus or belly button is an area of the abdomen which is usually prone to get infections, because things tend to get stuck in it and it is sometimes neglected during bathing and cleaning.
This makes its hygiene as risk and it may get infected.
Your problem correlated much to an inflammation or infectious process, which might have happened due to compromised care of hygiene of the area. There is no pus as yet according to your history so it seems to be just an allergic and inflammatory reaction at the moment.

You do not have to visit an E.R as yet you can well wait for doctor's appointment but I will suggest you to take some measures at home till you meet the doctor.

1) Keep the area clean.
2) Don't let it stay wet.
3) You can use tablet brufen it will relieve pain as well as inflammation.
4) Use Tablet citrizine 10mg daily at night .

These measures will hopefully help relieving your problems to much extent. Things don't seem to be really complicated at the moment but you have to take much care.

I hope this answered your question. If you have more queries I am happy to answer.Otherwise rate and close the discussion
