I was punched and two of my front teeth have been in pain for 6 days. The gum in between the two teeth has become red and inflamed and has today leaked puss for the first time. I visited the dentist two days ago and x rays were taken and the dentist said there was no major damage to the teeth or roots. Will some anti-biotics clear this up? What could be the problem?
Read your query, as you have trauma in upper front teeth result in pus discharge from tooth this is due to injury of Periodontal ligament fibres result in inflamation in gums and pain in teeth as your dentist has given you course of antibiotics complete it and if lossening of tooth is there you can go for splinting also . Inmeantime do warm saline rinses and avoid chewing solid food from front teeth take soft diet in period of treatment.
Hello, thank you for consulting with healthcaremagic. Actually it can be possible that due to trauma, your teeth might have become mobile because of loss of attachments of tooth and this process has caused an inflammation of gums , that is why it was not visible on the x - ray. Better that you should continue with the medications and if this puss does not go after that also then you have you have to go for root canal treatment of the tooth to clear infection. Hope it will help you.
