General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello!
Brazilian wax can be a painful procedure and can cause a lot of discomfort. Peeling of the skin and bumps, redness can all indicate severe inflammatory reaction or infection of the hair follicles. Continue the course of antibiotics for 5 to 7 days, wear loose cotton undergarments and avoid tight pants so that there is good circulation. Cleaning it thoroughly with water, applying aloe gel, calamine lotion alternately could be soothing. Betadine or neosporin have antibiotic properties and can be tried. Over the counter pain medications like acetaminophen or ibuprofen can help reduce the pain and inflammation. Hope you feel better soon!
