What Causes Red Sore On The Tongue And Sleeping Difficulty With Folliculitis And Ear Infection?

I have been taking Sulfamethoxazole TMP DS 800-160 MG for folliculitis and and an ear infection for 6 days now. Says to take one every 12 hours but I have only been taking once a day since it s the middle of the night when it s time to take it again. They gave me 10 pills and now my tongue has a white film and a little red sore in the middle. I have trouble sleeping and tired. My right ear which has the infection sometimes still has a sharp pain but not as bad and I still have a few bumps on my scalp and it was only on the right side of my scalp. Should I be concerned? I am assuming if I was to have severe allergic reaction it would have already shown up. Am I correct? Thank You Karen S. Oklahoma

Yes, you are absolutely correct. If it would have been a severe reaction it would have already been shown up.
Second most important thing is that the medicine called sulpha causes FDR, fixed drug reaction. It is usually in the form of a coin shaped black colored lesion which itches a lot.

Hence we have to see, the reasons can be oral thrush or development of a viral infection like Herpes.

For this you need to have clinical evaluation, physical examination, investigations if required and proper treatment as per the diagnosis.
