What Causes Red Rashes On The Lower Legs And Ankles While Having Stasis Dermatitis?
My wife has been diagnosed with stasis dermatitis, However she has a red rash around her lower legs particularly around the ankles. The area has had a scraping and it is not fungal. She has been wearing a boot(wrapping) and the redness is not going away and has not decreased at all after 6 weeks. It was originally treated with a variety of creams on the assumption it was a fungus. She is currently being treated by a dermatologist. My wife is female, age 83.
hi, thank you for putting up your query on HCM. sir, as per your history your wife has got stasis dermatitis. my treatment advise would be: 1. apply emollients like enmoist cream(white soft paraffin) twice daily. 2. apply topical corticosteroids like betamethasone valerate cream(0.1%) twice daily. 3. also you may apply olive oil while taking bath. 4. ask her not to stand for a long time. 5. keep one pillow beneath her leg while sleeping. thank you
