General & Family Physician 's  Response
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

It is more likely to be shingles, an allergic reaction is not likely to last this long and would be associated with itching more than pain.

Shingles is typically associated with pain.

The use of pain medication would help with your discomfort.Antiviral medication may also be helpful.

There is a shingles vaccine that is available , you can speak to your doctor to see if this is an option for you.

I hope this helps
