What Causes Red Dots On The Roof Of The Mouth?

Hi, for about a year now I have had red dots on the roof of my mouth, just about 3 of them. They come and go. When I touch my tongue to them they feel kind of raw sometimes and they feel a tad bit raised. My aunt (she's a nurse) said that they are broken blood vessels from coughing... but I'm not coughing.
I just want a general idea of what it could be.
Thanks

Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concern.

As per your complain red dots on the roof of mouth can be due to allergic reaction to any food or medication and they appear when you come in contact with it..
It can also be due to injury caused with some hard foods and in case if they are recurring in same number and in same locations they can be recurring multiple mucoceles or inflamed minor salivary glands..
I would suggest you to consult an Oral Physician and get evaluated and a thorough clinical evaluation can help in diagnosis and treatment can be planned accordingly..
As of now when they appear do warm saline gargles..
If they are painful gargle with a numbing mouthwash to relieve pain and tenderness..

Hope this information helps..

Thanks and regards.
