What Causes Red Callous Spot In The Knuckle Area?

Hello, I have a red spot on my left thumb, situated on the right side of the knuckle area. The red spot was there for about a month and then it started to rise with a hard outer texture. I scraped it and then it began to bleed sparatically without warning or injury to it, that happened for 2-3days. Now its just a hard callus raised bump with a small circular white area in center.

Dermatologist 's  Response
Hi,

It may be callosity with hyperkeratotic scale in the middle area. You may consult the dermatologist.

I would suggest..

- keratolytic oint like salicylic acid 12% oint may be applied twice day on the lesion
- take vitamin A and E capsules daily
- avoid the friction on affected area

Hope this would help you..
