What Causes Red Bumps On The Bottom Of Feet In A Diabetic?

I am type 2 diabetic & I noticed I was getting a bumpy white rash on the bottom of my feet. I thought it was dry skin but it has now turned red & is far more uncomfortable. It is a sore, itchy type feeling. Is this connected to my diabetes or something else ? I appreciate your opinion.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi.

It could be, I cannot say truly without a visual examination. But the description could match a fungal infection which is common amongst diabetics so I would recommend getting it checked or initiating anti-fungal creams like terbinafine over the region twice daily.
