What Causes Red Bump On Sole Of Foot After Injury?

I was walking in my bedroom a few days ago and stepped on something pierced the bottom of my foot. The wound seemed superficial and I immediately sanitized the wound. However, it is hard to see the puncture wound. Recently, a red, raised area has started to appear on my the sole of my foot. It is slightly itchy but no pain. Can you please tell me as to what this is? Is this a inflammatory response or what?

Yes it could be an inflammatory response to the injury.Topical antibacterial creams like mupirocin can be applied over the wound site with little bit on the sorrounding skin as well.Oral antibiotic like azithromycin might also be needed depending on severity. Consult your dermatologist regarding the above mentioned therapy. Regards
