Hi I have had an unusual red blotch on the dimple part between upper lip & nose for approximately 2 months now. Never had this before There is no pain, no itch & feels normal. The onl;y thing I can associate it with is that it initially appeared about half way through one of the worst chest infections I ever had, which lasted unusually for ~10 or so weeks (we called it the 100 day dry cough late last year) I thought it was whooping cough as it was so bad & was tested negative for it. Anyway the blotch appeared around the 6 week mark - pink initially then red then turned into a cold sore of which left a pink scar in the same place, the scar healed within 2 weeks & went away, then about 1.5 months later the blotch has begun to re-appear but without a cold sore. I m really puzzelled about this & was wondering whether this is a new type of phenomenon? As said never experienced this before, I am 49yrs old male & very fit as have been training & participated in recent 100 mile bike rides & never had an STD as am not premiscuos etc. Please let me know whether you ve ever heard of this & whether or not it could be viral etc.
