Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi. I have two bites on my legs. One is on my foot and the other one is above my ankle .these bites have turned red and swollen. The area next to it also hurts. What could it be? I m worried about this. I m using a gel called fenistill. Please tell me what is that?
I have gone through your query and can understand your concern..
As per your complain the swollen areas over the foot seems to be bug bite area and swelling is occurring due allergic reaction to the poisonous chemical injected under the skin by the stinger of the bug or insect leading to the following symptoms.. In case if you are using Fenistil gel it is alright as it is anti-allergic and will help you in providing relief.. You can also take oral anti allergics like Allegra.. You can do cool compresses over the swollen area.. If there is pain you can take Ibuprofen or tylenol..
Hope this information helps..
Thanks and regards. Dr.Honey Nandwani Arora.
