What Causes Red And Stinging Sensation In Eye After Getting Eucalyptus Oil In Eye?

Dear doctor, I managed to get eucalyptus oil, 100 pecent in my eye 8 hours ago. I flushed the eye for approximately 15 minutes with cold water and then waited for one hour to see if i had pain or problens with my vision. As i did not, I went to sleep. On waking this norning, my eye is slightly red and slightly stinging. Should I go and see my doctor or is there anything else that I can do? Thanks Chrissy

Ophthalmologist 's  Response
Hi..
Welcome to HCM..
As you have washed your eye no need to worry..
Use some artificial eye frops for relief..
You have to consult the ophthalmologist if you have blurring of vision, severe pain or sensitivity to light and redness persists..
It could be a mild chemical injury.
Hope this information is helpful to you.
Take care..
Regards..
