What Causes Recurring Swelling In Ankles And Feet?
I have been having swelling in my ankles and feet off and on for the past week or so. The left is much worse than the right side. I have also had a lot of knee pain on the left leg in the back of the leg behind knee. The knee pain I have had for some time and seems worse when I sit at my desk for awhile or driving and then stand up to walk. My main concern is the onset of swelling on the ankles now. Any suggestions ?
swelling in both ankles and feet can be due to systemic illness like congestive heart failure due to excess load on heart or it can be due to renal problem or liver problem.
Also it can be due to compression of vein or varicosities in veins or lymph compression.
For the accurate diagnosis you will require a complete evaluation like local examination of leg, heart , abdomen,ECG ultrasound or local usg of your leg. Once the diagnosis is made proper treatment can be done right now i would advice you keep some salt and water restriction but do not get yourself dehydrated on the other end. i hope this helps wish you all the best thank you for choosing hcm.
