What Causes Recurring Sore Throat Despite Taking Antibiotics?
Hi I m just wondering..my partner has had a sore throat for about a year and a half now and every time he goes to the doctors they just prescribe him with antibiotics but the thing is his throat never gets better.... he said it feels like he has a big lump or clump of something in his throat... he tried getting seen by a throat specialists through his doctor to get a camera in there to have a look but he got declined...any suggestions on what it may be? Thanks
Understanding your concern. As per your query you are having recurring sore throat despite taking antibiotics which could be due to viral pharyngitis or upper respiratory tract infection. Taking antibacterial in viral infection won't help rather complicate the condition sometimes . It could be mainly due to increased susceptibility of your body to get infected due to poor immunity. I would suggest you to do warm saline gargles or betadine gargles 2-3 times a day and start vitamin C tablet for 10 days. You should take combination of Ibuprofen and Acetaminophen. You should take steam inhalation along with vaporizer. Visit ENT specialist once and get it examined if symptoms keeps on persisting. Keep sipping warm water. Drink hot milk along with pinch of turmeric.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
