Hi welcome to HCM,
Paroxysmal events of heart racing can be significantly attributed to underlying disturbances in the rhythm of heart conduction.Atrial fibrillation can be most common culprit in majority of cases.24hr Holter EKG and electrophysiological studies can accurately quantify these arrythmias.Drugs like beta blockers and amiodarone can be used in the medical management.Radiofrequency ablation can offer permanent cure.Consult your cardiologist for further queries.
Thank you
