What Causes Recurring Itchy Welts On The Body?

Hi I am Suzanne, age 60 diabetic, with fatty liver, I have itching whelts that come up and go away randomly. I went to my dermatologist, she had a blood panel done, I don t understand any of it. However, two things showed up that were a concern to me. One, IDMS traceable creatinine . Under the negative column it showed the number at 0.77 and on the other column it showed units mg/dL 0.50-1.00 The other concern is GFR shows 60 mi/min/1.73m2 60 Neutrophils under out of range column @79.1 H I do not know what this means please let me know.

hi,
thanks for putting up your query on HCM.
as per your history, you have urticarial rash and since you are diabetic, dry skin also contributes to itching.
the investigations done by your doctor are normal, and you need not to worry much about it.
the 0.77 S.creat is ur blood level of creatinine. and 0.5-1 is the normal reference range of creatinine level, which reveals you have S. creat level in normal range.
-- similarly, normal neutrophil count is 40-80% which is also normal as 60 being the value.
-- gfr above 60 is considered as normal. also, in diabetics, kidneys can be affected in the form of diabetic nephropathy. go for a ultrasound abdomen, if you still have doubts after consulting a physician.
in my opinion, there is no reason to be worried, you are perfectly fine.
as for urticaria, my treatment advise would be:
1. you may take tab levocetrizine twice a day.
2. you may also take tab ranitidine 150 mg twice a day and apply soothing lotion like calamine lotion twice a day.
3. check your diabetic medications if you are taking with your dermatologist, as these medications also may be a cause of urticaria.
wishing you good health.
thank you
