Hi...by what you quote I feel that your kid is landing up in recurrent viral illness. I would like to know more about her growth and development and if she had any major hospitalizations or serious bacterial infections till now. If these are not there, you need not worry and it could be a viral illness. At this juncture, I would breif you on what a viral illness is and I suggest you stop using Mefkind P. Its is more harmful than useful.
Fever of few days without any localizing signs could as well a viral illness. Usually rather than fever, what is more important is the activity of the child, in between 2 fever episodes on the same day. If the kid is active and playing around when there is no fever, it is probably viral illness and it doesn't require antibiotics at all. Once
viral fever comes it will there for 4-7 days. So do not worry about duration if the kid is active.
Paracetamol can be given in the dose of 15mg/kg/dose every 4-6th hourly that too only if fever is more than 100F. I suggest not using combination medicines for fever, especially with Paracetamol.
Mefkind-P contains
Mefenamic acid which is a
NSAID. It carries the risk of
gastritis and renal problems in the long run. Please do not use Mefkind-P.
I have published a letter in a renowned Pediatric medical journal and I am herewith providing you a link to go through it.
