Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My 20 yr. old son has had a recurrent barking cough for the past few years. I had him tested for asthma and that was ruled out. He has periods that are quiet, but once he starts coughing, his bronchia quickly get irritated and it becomes a chronic bark that lasts for weeks or months. He uses an inhaler with some success but the bark is so deep and irritating to his lungs I really worry about this problem. Any idea what the problem is or whom I should consult?
HI Well come to HCM I really appreciate your concern, such cough may be due to some allergic condition and this would be fine may take some time to come around only matter of concern is it need to be differentiate with "pertussis" if this is not like that then it can be treated with steroid but child need to be eligible for this, hope this information helps, take care and have a nice day.
