What Causes Recurring Diarrhea, Vomiting And Abdominal Pain Post Treatment For GERD?

my son has had gastrointestinal issues on and off for the past three years. he was first diagnosed with Gerd then had his appendix removed. His gall bladder was supposed to be removed; however, that wasn t done as doctors didn t think that was causing his problems. He is throwing up and has diarrhea again now. The last time this happened was May 13, 2016. It seems to happen every 6 to 8 weeks. He said the pain is in the middle of his stomach right below his breast bone.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

He may a scope of the entire gastrointestinal tract.

Endoscopy of the esophagus, stomach and early duodenum and colonoscopy would take a look at the large intestines.

Based on the location of the discomfort, the stomach appears to be involved so the endoscopy may be able to give an idea of the problem.
If there are any suspicious area, biopsy can be done.

I hope this helps
