I AM A 67 YEAR OLD FEMALE, HAVE IDDM FOR 50 YEARS BUT AM IN GOOD HEALTH. I HAVE SUFFERED FM BOUTS OF LOW B/P SINCE I WAS YOUNG (TEEN AGER) IT IS NOT ALL THE TIME OR HAS A SPECIFIC TIME PATTERN. IT WILL BE NORMAL & WITHIN A FEW MINUTES BE 70/40 OR 90/50 & I VE HAD IT S LOW AS 51//31. I HAVE ASKED ALL OF THE DOCTORS I HAVE SEEN THROUGHOUT MY ADULT LIFE ABOUT THIS AND ALL THEY TELL ME IS I DON T KNOW WHAT IS CAUSING THIS . IT S FRUSTRATING THAT THERE IS NOTHING ANYONE CAN TELL ME ABOUT THIS OR TREAT THIS PROBLEM

General & Family Physician 's  Response
as most cases of High Blood pressure isfamilial or genetic so is low blood pressure. as long as you are in good health and asymptomatic low blood pressure should not be of any concern. Keep yourself well hydrated along with proper electrolyte balance. if any symptoms consult a neurologist for autonomic nervous system dysfunction.
