Thank you for your query

Triamcinolone acetonide is a topical corticosteroid that is usually prescribed for rashes/dermatitis that is not infected

It may also be used as an adjuvant therapy along with topical antibiotics /antifungal treatment if it is an infection.

For a rash that is not part of an infection, long term application should be stopped after a weaning phase. For Instance if you apply it twice a day, after your symptoms/rashes subside, reduce it to once a day for about 5 days and then to once every alternate day for 5days and then stop it.

This is to avoid rebound effect. If the rashes occur during the weaning period, you may either need to use the medicine longer before you start to wean it, or use a stronger medicine.

If, however, it is an infection or you notice any discoloration, thinning of the skin, you need to see your doctor for alternate treatment.

Any ankle swelling, excess hair growth, signs of infection (local warmth, redness, fever) should be reported immediately.

Hope this helps.
