What Causes Rectal Bleeding After A Bowel Movement?
I have had blood on my toilet paper (anus) even when I do not have a bowel movement - for approx. 6 months I now have what it appears to be small tissue in the toilet after having a bowel movement. I have had issues with constipation and IBS in the past and periodically - About 4 or 5 years ago I had a colonoscopy and they said there was nothing wrong.....but now it has returned and worse than before.
The bleeding from rectum can be caused most commonly by hemorrhoids (piles) or fistula or a fissure.
I suggest you to see for the kind of blood that appears on the tissue if
1.it is dark blood it is from internal piles.
2.If it is bright red blood then it is from a fissure and you can feel a cut around the anal skin.
3.if it is mixed with pus it is from a fistula which is nothing but an abnormal passage between the skin and the rectum which is often infected by bacteria resulting in bleeding pain n pus.
In your case as you are saying just blood it can be from just internal piles. However, they require the right treatment so i suggest you to go for a second opinion and examination with your general physician who can deal the case rightly and give you the right treatment.
Wishing you good health!
