What Causes Rectal And Nose Bleeding On Taking Aspirin?

When I take a baby aspirin, I have rectal bleeding or nose bleeds. I applied a salicylic acid wart remover just above my knee and experienced rectal bleeding almost immediately. Can topically applied salicyclic acid cause this? And are hemorrhoids involved?

Hello,
Welcome to HCM.
I understand your concern.
Taking small dose of aspirin decreases the process of blood clotting. This is the reason why you are having rectal and nose bleeds after taking low dose aspirin.
Low dose aspirin is having long term anti clotting effect which can persist for 1 week after the last dose.
Using topical salicylic acid does not cause this kind of effect. So, there is no association between use of topically applied salicyclic acid and rectal bleeding.
Rectal bleeding may be due to hemorrhoids which might have bleed independently or may be due to aspirin taken earlier.
Hope this will be helpful.
Do ask if any further question is there.
Take care.
