What Causes Rashes Behind The Ears?

Both of my children (age 5 and 8) have rashes behind their ears. The rash is a combo of red, slightly swollen skin and bumps - looks very irritated. They both also have head colds - mild nasal congestion, sneezing, etc. They don t otherwise appear sick - good energy, etc. Can this rash be associated with the head cold? The climate here is cool and dry right now so a heat/humidity rash doesn t make sense and neither have a history of rashes, eczema.

HI
Well come to HCM
I really appreciate your concern for your children, this could be allergic condition and most of the time this is self limiting and does not need any treatment for the rash, in my opinion just wait for some time symptom will come around, and if not then this can be managed with antihistamine and best option would be "Levocetirizine" 2.5 mg twice in day, hope this information helps, take care.
