Good afternoon. I have through the history of your daughter. It seems that she has
polycystic ovaries. This is the quite common medical condition associated with weight gain ,
irregular periods, acne, facial hair growth. Not all symptoms appear in all patients. Have she done hormonal levels too?
(FSH , LH , PROLACTIN ,
Thyroid stimulating hormone).
If her blood sugar levels are normal, also do fasting insulin levels for her as there is
insulin resistance associated with Polycystic ovaries leading to increase Blood Glucose levels. Here are the things which she can do.
1) Reduce weight by cutting off processed carbohydrates and unhealthy fats. Also do regular exercise but remember that cutting off sugars is more important.
2) Sometimes, doctor start
metformin in this situation as it decreases insulin resistance and helps to lose weight and regularize mentrual irregularities. But discuss it with your doctor as he she will see all the reports and decide what is best for her.
If her weight is within normal limits and periods are regular, it means the disease is under control. Hope this helps you.
