What Causes Rapid Heart Rate?

I am currently on chemo. After the last 2 infusions my heart rate runs from 99-130. I have woken in the night with severe headache and checked my HR and it was 130. I am on Avapro for HBP. This lasts for a couple of days then goes back to 70-80 s. Should I be concerned. It is 108 right now.

Hi,

I would advise you to undergo an ECG to rule out arrhythmias.
In such patients I would prescribe a small dose of beta blocker, it will prevent tachycardias and will protect your heart during chemo.
So the best decision will be to see your doctor to perform an ECG and discuss the possibility of prescription of a beta blocker.

Hope I could help you

Wishing you good health
