Hello and welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.

I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

This rapid heart beat is medically termed as palpitations. Palpitations are feelings or sensations that your heart is pounding or racing. They can be felt in your chest, throat, or neck. You may have an unpleasant awareness of your own heartbeat and you feel like your heart skipped or stopped beats. Usually, palpitations are either related to your heart or the cause is unknown.

Non-heart-related causes include strong emotions like anxiety, fear, or stress. They often happen during panic attacks. I would advice you some base line tests for cardiology like holter monitor, 2d echo, tread mill test and thyroid profile to rule out the cause of palpitations.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Rishu Saxena
