What Causes Radiating Pain In The Face While On Ibuprofen?

I was diagnosed with a infection under my tooth crown. I am having severe pain radiating throughout my face. Ibuprofen every 6 hours is helping but naproxen was prescribed along with cephalexin and cyclobenzaprine. What is the best pain cocktail.

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain it seems that there is a secondary infection in your tooth which can be due to seepage of fluids and debris from the crown in the inside of the crown and causing infection in tooth and it is leading to severe pain..

In case if there is severe pain then Naproxen can help but for severe pain you need higher painkillers like Tramadol or Ketorolac..

Also you should get an x ray done to check for the level of infection and in case if there is abscess formation then you might need to get the crown removed and get the tooth treated with root canal treatment [re-treatment might be needed if root canal treatment is already done previously] followed by antibiotics and painkillers and again the crown can be placed once the infection and pain completely subsides..
