What Causes Radiating Pain In Chest, Sternum And Left Shoulder?

Hello, I m Brandon, a 19 year old Native American male. I m having a chest pain that starts at my sternum and goes through my left shoulder. I ve been expiriencing this for a few weeks, hoping it would subside. When I press down on the painful spot it usually agitates it more. I don t like laying on my left side because my muscle becomes sore. During the day, my left shoulder becomes tired and my sternum hurts. Any thoughts?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi welcome to the health care magic

At such a young age cardiac problem seems less likely but still to exclude cardiac problem work up done with...
-Blood pressure measurement
-pulse examination
-Tread mill
-EKG etc

If it is normal than pain could be musculoskeletal

For that ibuprofen like anti inflammatory drug can be given for five days

Hot compress can be applied

Avoid bad sleep posture

For few, days avoid strenuous work

Take care

Consult pulmonologoist for examination and further work up
