What Causes Quivering Of Lips And Slow Speech?

My dad is 57, and the last time he visited, I noticed that his lips are starting to quiver a little bit. Over the last several months, I have also noticed that he has been slowing down a lot. Even his speech is a little bit slower. Any ideas what might be happening?

He may be developing problems in his brain such as Parkinson's disease, or having small strokes. Metabolic problems such as diabetes or hypothyroidism can also cause such symptoms. He should see his doctor promptly for a physical examination and testing to identify the cause. Many of these things can be treated or reversed. Hope this answers your query.
