What Causes Pus Cells In Stool Test Of A Child?

My son is 7-and-a-half years old. For past 10 days, he is suferring from loose motions, occasional vomiting and severe gastric problems. Yesterday, we got his stool routine test done and there were pus cells present in his stool (80-100). I know this is high, but what does it signify? Is there any other infection / problem which is yet to be diagonsed? Our Pediatric has prescribed Taxim-o DT, 100mg to be taken twice a day. Is this the right dosage and medicine? Kindly assist.
