What Causes Purple Bruise On Eyelid After An Injury?

My two year old son had a fallen hitting his face on granite floor and was taken to hospital and a ct scan done which was reported ok and was under observation for 12 hours after which he was discharged . But now after 12 hours after discharge a dark purple bruise is seen on his eye lid . Should I consult doctor . He is behaving normal and shows no sign of pain

Thank you for the question.The bruise you are concerned is due to collection of the blood & called as hematoma.It will resolve over time by its own.You mayneed to concern doctor if its size is gradually increasing and/or there is a pain,otherwise hot pack application is all it needs.get well soon
