What Causes Prolonged Periods And Tiredness Post Cerazette Withdrawal?

Hello since coming off cerazette nearly 5 months ago after being on it for over 3 years I have had bleeding in between periods and heavy prolonged periods also extreme aching in my limbs and pain in them extreme tiredness as well .im 50 years old and told I m not going through the menopause as my hormone levels are normal so why do I feel so bad ? Hope you can help . Susan

Thanks for posting in HCM.
I understand your concern.
Following stoppage of birth control pills after a long duration of its intake, it takes about 6 to 8 months for the periods to become regular.
Hence, you need not worry about it much. Also, considering your age, menstrual disturbances could also be a manifestation of peri-menopausal symptoms. Gradually, such symptoms should subside and menstruation will stop completely.
The other problem of you experiencing tiredness is due to iron deficiency, caused due to excess loss through heavy and irregular bleeding.
Kindly take iron supplements with folic acid in the form of tablet or syrup regularly. Consume diet rich in iron content like dark green leafy vegetables, jaggery and dates.
Gradually, your symptoms should subside and should start feeling better.
