What Causes Prolonged Bleeding After Toe Nail Removed?

I had my whole toenail removed at 10 o clock this morning in an office visit to a surgeon for an ingrown toenail and now that it is almost 3 it is still bleeding and I can start to see it through the gauze wrapping. Is this normal and how long should it bleed for?

Hello,
Thanks for the query.
you might be having a low platelet count which can lead to prolonged bleeding.
Get your platelet levels, bleeding and clotting time checked.
I suggest you to get a thorough check up done.
Please meet a dermatologist for exact diagnosis.
Let me know if you have any other doubt.
