What Causes Profuse Night Sweating And Pungent Smell From The Body?

Hello. i sweat profusely most times of the day, but at night I often wake up soaking wet. i also have noticed a pungent Vinegar type smell on the pillow, and often on my hair, especially behind the ears. i shower everyday, change shampoo and gel brands fairly regularilly but this seems to have no effect. i am overwiegt, by around 50-60 lbs, and i am male 42 yrs old. the vinegar smell has happened in the last few months, but the sweating day and esp at night has always been a problem( even when i was a good body weight) i never use a cover and sleep in only boxers. advice please?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi and thanks for the query,
Excessive sweating could arise form disease conditions like Tuberculosis and hyperthyroidism most commonly. When these conditions are carefully ruled out, other complex metabolic conditions can be sought. Body hygeine and keeping privates dry, including using deodorants could be first solutions to manage body odour. Regards
