It feels muffled and I haven t had an ear infection in a very long time so I don t know how to prevent them or what to do for them. I was going to give a day or so and see if it goes away if not I ll probably go get it looked at.
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have pressure in ear while coughing well the symptoms you mention in query are pointing towards a condition known as otitis media .I would suggest your to consult ENT specialist without any delay otherwise infection can spread to middle ear and inner ear. Doctor may prescribe anti viral or anti bacterial drug depending upon the diagnosis along with anti inflammatory . For now take ibuprofen or acetaminophen for pain and cover your ear while bathing. Sometimes when infection like sore throat which can occur due to bacterial or viral infection left untreated or due to low immunity , spread to ear through eustachina tube.
